Afternoon Tea

The Jefferson's Southern Afternoon Tea is served Friday and Saturday with seatings between 12:00pm and 4:15pm on the Mezzanine balcony overlooking the Rotunda.

Please see the blue Holiday Tea box below for pricing on our teas served in celebration of Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day (May 10 & 11), Father’s Day (June 14 & 15), and all teas during the winter holiday season when the hotel is decorated for Christmas.  Chocolate Lovers Tea will be served on June 15 for Father's Day and on Fridays and Saturdays during the holiday season.  We are currently fully reserved for Saturday, May 4th and Saturday, May 11th.

Chocolate Lover’s Tea

  • Served every first and third Saturday of each month (see exceptions above).
  • Our full tea service above as well as a selection of decadent chocolate desserts.
  • $50.00 plus tax and gratuity, per person 

Children's Menu

  • Available every day that tea is served for children ages 4-8.
  • $40.00 plus tax and gratuity, per child for Afternoon Tea 
  • $45.00 plus tax and gratuity, per child for Chocolate Lover's Tea 
  • Children age 3 and under dine at no charge unless a specialty menu is requested. One paying adult per child under 3 please.
  • Please provide ages of children at time of reservation.
Specialty Menus

A gluten free menu is available at an additional charge of $6.00 per person. Specialty menus like nut or dairy free menus are available at an additional charge of $4.00 per person.  Please request these options at the time of reservation.

Celebratory Beverages

An afternoon tea cocktail menu as well as a full selection of wines and sparkling wines is available for purchase.

Parking

Guests of afternoon tea are invited to self-park at no charge.  Valet parking is also available at a cost of $18.00.  

Parties of 20 or More
We are happy to serve tea Monday through Thursday for parties of 25 or more guests if the space is available.  Please call 804-649-4710 for availability.

Cancellation Policy

Credit card guarantees are required for all afternoon tea reservations.

For parties of 5 or less, cancellations are accepted at no charge until 3 days prior to your reservation. You may change the number of guests for your reservation up to 24 hours in advance. The final guest count given will be the amount you are charged on the day of your reservation.  If you do not cancel your reservation and do not show, you will be charged for the full amount.   

For parties of 6-12, cancellations are accepted at no charge until one week prior to your reservation. You may change the number of guests for your reservation up to 72 hours in advance. The final guest count will be the amount you are charged on the day of your reservation.  If you do not cancel your reservation and do not show, you will be charged for the full amount.  

For groups of 13 or more, a contract will be required. 

Holiday TEA

Holiday Tea will be served in celebration of Valentine's Day (February 9, 10, 16 & 17), Easter (March 29 & 30), Mother's Day (May 10 & 11), Father’s Day (June 14 & 15), and all teas during the winter holiday season when the hotel is decorated for Christmas.  Chocolate Lovers Tea will be served on all four Valentine's Day dates, on June 15 for Father's Day and on Fridays and Saturdays during the holiday season.

Reservations for all holiday teas can be made by calling 804-649-4710. Please see our Reservation Tips below for more information on our winter holiday teas when the hotel is decorated for Christmas.  Reservation dates for the 2024 holiday season will be posted in the summer.  

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR HOLIDAY TEAS

Credit card guarantees are required on all holiday tea reservations. Separate checks are not available for parties larger than five (5).

For parties of five (5) or less, cancellations are accepted at no charge one week prior to your reservation. You may change the number of guests for your reservation up to the three days prior.

For parties of six (6) or more, cancellations are accepted at no charge two weeks prior to your reservation. You may change the number of guests for your reservation up to one week prior.

The final guest count given will be the amount you are charged on the day of your reservation. If you do not cancel your reservation by the deadline or do not arrive for your reservation, you will be charged for the full amount.

Parties of 13 and above require a contract.

RESERVATION TIPS:

  • Calls will not be answered before 8am. If you are calling before 8am, you will not be entered into the queue when it opens.
  • If you are receiving a busy signal or your call is not being answered when calling 804-649-4710, please continue to call back. This means that the reservations line is currently full, but another caller will be allowed into the reservations queue soon.
  • Once you are in the queue, please do not hang up! We have a team of people taking reservations and your call will be answered in the order in which it was received.
  • On each reservation call-in date, availability updates will be posted on the home page of this website. Please be sure to refresh your browser each time you visit for the latest information.
  • Reservations will only be accepted by telephone at 804-649-4710. Unfortunately, our team will not be able to assist you with reservations via social media, email, walk-in or on another telephone line coming into the hotel.
  • In effort to minimize hold times and maximize availability of reservations we ask that a single caller, using a single phone line, be designated for those parties wishing to make reservations for a group. We are happy to take more than one reservation per caller but request your assistance in avoiding double bookings and long wait times caused by duplicate bookings.
  • Reservations are non-transferable as they are booked by table, not seat.
  • Please have your credit card ready when calling. A credit card guarantee is required to hold your reservation.
  • Please note that tea is not served on Sunday.
