Featuring Glorious Glass Exhibit at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
RICHMOND, VA (February 23, 2010) – From April 1 to September 7, 2010, travelers can experience two of Richmond’s most unique venues in one value priced package. The Glorious Glass Package includes a choice of accommodations, traditional Southern breakfast for two, breakfast gratuities, valet parking and two tickets to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. The cost per couple is $205 for superior accommodations and $225 for deluxe accommodations, per night. Taxes are additional and package is subject to availability. The Glorious Glass exhibit will feature more than one hundred pieces of art by renowned glass artist, Hans Godo Frabel, to be displayed throughout the beautiful gardens at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. This is a rare opportunity to interact with the artist’s work, from the realistic to the whimsical, in a garden setting with ever-changing surroundings. Major Lewis Ginter, for whom the gardens are named, was also the builder of The Jefferson Hotel. In 1884, Major Ginter purchased the land, once owned by Patrick Henry, that the gardens now occupy and built The Lakeside Wheel Club. The Jefferson Hotel was opened in 1895 as one of the finest hotels in the South. The Jefferson Hotel has 262 rooms and suites, and is home to Lemaire Restaurant, TJ’s Restaurant, The Salon at The Jefferson, Blooms at The Jefferson and Sunday Champagne Brunch. It is a member of Preferred Hotels and Resorts Worldwide and Historic Hotels of America and one of only 37 hotels and resorts in North America to earn both the Forbes (formerly Mobil) Five Star and AAA Five Diamond award. Founded in 1984, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is one of only two independent public botanical gardens in Virginia and a top-five tourist destination in Richmond. Located on 80 acres, it includes over a dozen themed gardens, educational facilities, a children’s garden, garden shop, teahouse, café and a classical domed Conservatory, that is the only one of its kind in the mid-Atlantic. Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is open daily from 9am to 5pm. For more information about The Jefferson Hotel, visit http://www.jeffersonhotel.com/.
