- Artspace – 320 Hull Street. 291-1400. Provides space for exhibits, theatrical and musical performances, and regular series of poetry and prose readings. Founded in 1988, Artspace is an artist-run co-op.
- Astra Design – 15 N. Belmont St. 355-0828. This gallery focuses on contemporary art, furniture, jewelry and sculptural pieces.
- Brazier Fine Art - 3401 W. Cary St. 359-2787. Contemporary realist and impressionist paintings by artists from the United States, Russia and Spain.
- Chasen Galleries - 3554 W. Cary St. 204-1048. The works of more than 100 fine artists glass artists from around the world.
- Column B Gallery at Chop Suey - 1317 W. Cary St. 497-4705, Six shows of contemporary art yearly.
- Corporate and Museum Frame Gallery - 301 W. Broad St. 643-6858. Exhibits throughout the year include oil paintings, photography and mixed media.
- Crossroads Art Center - 2016 Staples Mill Road. 278-8950. Monthly shows feature local artists' work in painting, drawing, pottery, woodworking and more.
- Eggspace - 521 W. Seventh St. 226-4321. An alternative venue, showcasing respected regional and national artists with five to six shows yearly.
- Elegba Folklore Society - 101 E. Broad St. 644-3900. Exhibitions of art and artifacts from the African world, including paintings, prints, carvings, crafts, textiles, books, cards, décor and wearables.
- Eric Schindler Art Gallery - 2305 E. Broad St. 644-5005. Exhibiting works for more than 50 years, this is the oldest private arts gallery in the Region.
- For Art's Sake - 3451 W. Cary St. 353-8101. This gallery and teaching space in Carytown focuses on local and regional artists.
- 43rd Street Gallery - 1412 W. 43rd St. 233-1758. This gallery offers pottery, jewelry, furniture and more by local artists.
- Gallery 5800 - 5800 Grove Ave. 285-0774. Located at Suitable for Framing, this commercial gallery shows works by local and national artists.
- Gumenick Family Gallery at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen - 2880 Mountain Road, 261-6200. Several shows each year include new and established artists' works.
- Lora Robins Gallery of Design From Nature - Boatwright Memorial Library, University of Richmond. 289-8276. Among the museum's 100,000 items are minerals, fluorescent rocks, geodes, fossils, shells, corals and ancient coins.
- Main Art Gallery - 1537 W. Main St. 355-6151. Focuses on contemporary Virginia artists in shows that change monthly.
- Montpelier Center for Arts and Education - 17205 Mountain Road, 883-7378 Exhibits throughout the year feature Virginia artists, plus a national juried art exhibit in April through May.
- Old World Prints Ltd - 2601 Floyd Ave. 213-0600. Known for an extensive collection of prints and reproductions.
- Reynolds Gallery - 1514 W. Main St. 355-6553. Hosts 12 shows a year featuring the works of regional and national artists.
- Richmond Main Public Library - 101 E. Franklin Street. 646-4740. An array of exhibits displayed monthly in the Gellman Room, the second floor gallery, and the Art & Music Foyer.
- 1708 Gallery - 319 W. Broad St. 643-1708. This artist-run gallery features contemporary regional and national work in about 10 shows each year.
- Uptown Gallery - 1305 W. Main St. 353-8343. A cooperative showcasing more than 30 artists.
- Visual Art Studio - 208 W. Broad St. 644-1368. Gallery owner/artist Anne Hart features an array of works by area artists.
- West End Gallery - 9754 Gayton Road. 740-1569. Includes oil paintings of Richmond gardens, floral watercolors and limited edition prints.
- White Canvas Gallery - 111 South 14th St. 782-1776. Offers paintings, prints, sculptures, photographs and more. Features work from a Jefferson Hotel’s employee.
- WRIC -TV8 Arboretum Gallery - 301 Arboretum Place. 330-8888. Located at WRIC-TV8, this gallery features four shows a year.

- Concert Ballet of Virginia - 11028 Leadbetter Road in Ashland. 798-0945. A full season of performances by this dance company includes classical and contemporary works at the Woman's Club Auditorium, 211 E. Franklin St.
- Elegba Folklore Society - 101 E. Broad St. 644-3900. African dancers, drummers, singers and masquerades present concerts, dance theater, performance-lectures and classes.
- Ezibu Muntu African Dance and Cultural Foundation - 418 E. Main St. 225-0626. Available for lecture-demonstrations and offering instruction in African and color guard maneuvers.
- Ground Zero Dance Company - 1840 W. Grace St. 353-9774. A group of four presenting original works.
- Virginia Opera - 866-6191. Nation’s 14th largest opera, is “tops by any standard” (The New York Times) and performs in Richmond, Norfolk, and Fairfax.

- Barksdale Theatre - 1601 Willow Lawn Dr. 282-2620. Richmond’s oldest nonprofit, professional theatre company and presents and eclectic mix of comedies, dramas, and musicals on a year-round schedule.
- Chamberlayne Actors Theatre - 319 N. Wilkinson Rd. 262-9760. This professional troupe stages performances like "Wyrd Sisters" and "Lets Murder Marsha."
- ComedySportz at Comedy Alley - 7115 Staples Mill Rd. 266-9377. This Troupe creates improvisational shows appropriate for all ages.

- Firehouse Theatre Project - 1609 W. Broad St. 355-2001. Presents important American contemporary theatre pieces with an emphasis on plays not previously produced in the metropolitan Richmond area.
- Mystery Dinner Playhouse - 9826 Midlothian Turnpike. 649-2583. Performances at the Best Western Governor's Inn Friday and Saturday nights.
- Randolph-Macon College - Drama Guild Cobb Theatre, 205 Henry St. in Ashland. 752-4704. Under the supervision of faculty, students will produce shows including Three Viewings and A Christmas Carol.
- Swift Creek Mill Playhouse - 17401 Jefferson Davis Highway (Route 1) right outside Colonial Heights. 748-5203. Operating in an old gristmill.
- Theatre IV Empire Theater - 114 W. Broad St. 344-8040. Aimed at younger audiences.
- Theatre Virginia Commonwealth University - 922 Park Ave. 828-1514. Founded in 1940, this troupe performs at the Raymond Hodges Theatre and the Shafer Street Playhouse.
