The Jefferson Hotel is currently looking for an EXECUTIVE PASTRY CHEF to lead our numerous gastronomical operations including banquets, Lemaire Restaurant and room service. We are looking for someone who brings personal style to every experience, a natural curiosity to discover different palates, the innovation to excite and an understanding of diverse high-quality cuisines. We want a driven and committed Executive Pastry Chef who thrives working in a complex and demanding operation.
Directs and oversees the pastry and baking functions of the hotel
Menu development, inventory and purchasing of supplies and cost control
Tests and develops recipes
Responsible for the creation of dessert menus to maximize profits and minimize loss
Requires an understanding of federal, state, and local food sanitation regulations
Manage the pastry kitchen team effectively to ensure a well-organized, motivated team
Minimum of 2 years as a Pastry Chef de Partie or Pastry Chef
Experience with high volume food production
Working knowledge of dietary restrictions and food allergies
Excellent planning and organizing skills
Ability multi-task and meet deadlines
Must be able to lift 20 pounds and work while standing for periods of time
Strong supervisory skills
Creative approach to the production of food
Passion for producing high quality food
Proficiency with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, preferred
Hourly, Full-Time Position
Shifts: 7:30am-3:30pm and 3:30pm-11:30pm (must be flexible, weekends and holidays may be required)
Security Agent will be responsible for the safety and security of hotel guests, team members and property. Candidate should possess a strong work ethic and honesty and integrity must be above reproach. Excellent customer service skills, diplomacy and good communication skills, both oral and written are a must. Able to physically perform position including lifting up to 30 lbs. Previous work experience in security, law enforcement or military is required.
Respond to all requests for assistance in a timely fashion (five minutes or less) ensurinng proper resolution and notifying dispatch of status.
Monitor all radio communications and act upon requests received or give assistance to non-direct requests.
Inform Security Director of any and all important information and occurrences, including all breaches of security or safety hazards.
Ensure the proper steps are taken to resolve all hazards and complete necessary documentation.
Perform safety and security checks of hotel property, including securing doors and lighting adjustments.
Knowledgeable about and able to successfully follow all hotel emergency procedures for the following: Fire, Medical Emergency, Bomb Threat, Power Outage, Robbery, Civil Disorder, Weather Calamities and Elevator Emergencies
Be familiar with local and state laws regarding security.
Be fully certified in the following: CPR w/ AED, Basic First Aid and Fire Extinguisher Usage
Ensure all security paperwork, i.e., incident reports, accident reports (guest and team member), etc. are filled out correctly, neatly and with correct grammar and spelling in a timely manner.
Assist guests with questions. Escort guests asking for directions or assistance of any kind. Provide escorts for team members to parking areas after dark.
Logging all package shipping and receiving.
