Online Reservations Now Available for Afternoon Tea

By popular demand, we are delighted to announce that reservations for Afternoon Tea at The Jefferson in Richmond, Virginia can now be made online using Tock. 

All tea reservations will be online reservations only and your credit card will be charged the day you make reservations. Reservations are non-refundable but may be altered or rescheduled up to one week prior to your reservation date. Reservations are made by table so please make your reservation for the entire party under one name. If you make separate reservations, you will be at separate tables. 

If you are looking for holiday tea reservations, please be sure to read the holiday information below. After selecting the brown "book now" button, scroll down to Holiday Afternoon Tea or Holiday Chocolate Lovers Tea for Fridays and Saturdays as well as Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

Please note that Holiday Tea will not be served on December 1, 5, 8, 14, 15, 22, 25 (Christmas Day), 29 or January 1 (New Year's Day).

Santa Tea Dates are December 7 and 19 and both are currently sold out, but you may add yourself to the waitlist via Tock.

*Please start with the TOTAL number of guests, including all children, and then select the correct menu for each person.

The Jefferson's Southern Afternoon Tea in Richmond, Virginia is served Friday and Saturday with seatings between 12:00pm and 4:15pm on the Mezzanine balcony overlooking the Rotunda. Reservations open at 8am exactly 90 days in advance, starting with current day as day #1.

Chocolate Lover’s Tea

  • Served every first and third Saturday of each month (see exceptions below).

Children's Menu

  • Available every day that tea is served for children ages 4-8.
  • $40.00 plus tax and gratuity, per child for Afternoon Tea 
  • $45.00 plus tax and gratuity, per child for Chocolate Lover's Tea 
  • Children age 3 and under dine at no charge unless a specialty menu is requested. One paying adult per child under 3 please.
Specialty Menus

A gluten free menu is available at an additional charge of $6.00 per person. Specialty menus like nut or dairy free menus are available at an additional charge of $4.00 per person.  Please select these options at the time of reservation.

Celebratory Beverages

An afternoon tea cocktail menu as well as a full selection of wines and sparkling wines is available for purchase.

Parking

Complimentary self-parking is available for tea guests at one of our two lots:

1. The Main Street Lot is located between Adams Street and Jefferson Street.  Please ask your server for a parking validation card before leaving. 

2. The Adams Street Lot is located across from The Franklin Street hotel entrance. Please ask your server for a parking validation card before leaving.

Valet parking is also available for tea guests in the hotel's main entrance at 101 W. Franklin Street at a reduced rate of $18 per car. 

Parties of 25 or More
We are happy to serve tea Monday through Thursday for parties of 25 or more guests if the space is available.  Please call 804-649-4710 for availability.

NEW Cancellation Policy

Full payment is required at the time of booking the reservation.  Reservations are non-refundable. Changes to the number of guests on all reservations must be received seven (7) days prior to your reservation.  For groups of 21 or more a contract will be required.

Holiday Tea

Holiday Tea is served in celebration of Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father’s Day, and all teas during the winter holiday season when the hotel is decorated for Christmas
(November 29, 2024 - January 4, 2025).  Holiday Chocolate Lover's Tea will be served December 6, 13, 20, 21, 24, 27, 28 and 31 as well as January 3 and 4, 2025 for the holiday season. Holiday decorating will be in progress the weekend of November 29 and 30. The Christmas tree in the Rotunda will not be complete until Monday, December 2. 

We do not offer tea service on Sundays. Due to events, there will be no tea service on December 5, 7, 8, 14, 15, 19, 22, 25 or January 1, 2025.

PRICE FOR HOLIDAY CHOCOLATE LOVER'S TEA (Every Friday and Saturday during the holiday season as well as Christmas Eve and New Years Eve)

A 20% gratuity and 13.5% tax will be automatically added to your bill.

PRICE FOR SANTA TEA (Saturday, December 7 and Thursday, December 19)

Santa Tea is served in the Rotunda as well as on the Mezzanine balcony level. The Santa Tea is a set menu consisting of assorted finger sandwiches, various holiday treats and cookies, and hot tea. You will be offered two flavors of hot tea for the adults and hot chocolate for the children. Our favorite guests, Santa and Mrs. Claus, will make their entrance at the top of the grand staircase at approximately 12:05 pm and will individually visit each table. Children may give their wish lists and take pictures at your table during this time. 

Reservations for all holiday teas can be made online ONLY. Please see our Reservation Tips below for more information on our winter holiday teas served November 29, 2024 - January 4, 2025 when the hotel is decorated for Christmas. Reservations will open online at 8:00am EST exactly 90 days in advance of the tea date you wish to reserve.  

NEW CANCELLATION POLICY FOR HOLIDAY TEAS
Full payment is required at the time of booking the reservation. Reservations are non-refundable. Changes to the number of guests and reschedules on all reservations must be received seven (7) days prior to your reservation.  

RESERVATION TIPS:

  • Reservations must be made online. Unfortunately, our team will not be able to assist you with reservations via telephone, social media, email or in person.
  • Online reservations will open at 8:00am EST exactly 90 days prior for all tea reservations. If you are logged in prior to 8am, you will need to refresh your browser.
  • Please have your credit card ready to complete your online booking. Your credit card will be charged for your afternoon tea experience at the time the reservation is made. You have 10 minutes to complete your reservation.
  • Scroll down to Holiday Afternoon Tea or Holiday Chocolate Lover's Tea for the correct availability calendar to populate.
  • Start with the total number of guests, including all children.
  • Reservations are booked by table. If you and your guest book separately, you will be at separate tables. 
  • Reservations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Tea is not available on Sundays.
  • Reservation changes can also be made via Tock prior to the 7-day reschedule cutoff and based upon availability.
  • Once all reservations have been booked for a particular day, you will be provided the opportunity to be placed on a waitlist via Tock.
  • Guests requesting reservations for parties of 21 or more must call 804-649-4710 to confirm and sign a contract for their booking.
