Banquet Manager

FT/ PT: Full Time

The Banquet Manager is Responsible for overall operation of Banquet Department to include supervision of Banquet Service and Set Up staff, guest relations, financial accountability and all details related to room set-up and service of food and beverage.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises and/or delegates the supervision of all functions, ensuring efficient and courteous service to our guests.  Responsible for ensuring training of service & set up personnel to meet service standards established by The Jefferson Hotel. Also for on-going training and follow-up of standards as related to guests and other departments.  Accountable for supervising, disciplining, reviewing and counseling of all banquet personnel, including Captains and Set-up personnel.  Responsible for complete and accurate files on each Banquet employee.  Will Schedule department personnel for functions and posts weekly schedule.  Helps in maintaining the budgeted payroll for service personnel.  Ensures that all instructions are followed as outlined in Banquet Event Order for all functions, i.e., room arrangement, service procedures, etc.  Also makes certain there is banquet floor coverage at all times by either a manager or captain.  Responsible and accountable for budgeting and ensures profitability for designated accounts within the banquet budget.  Cooperates and communicates fully with all other departments.  Knowledgeable with all kitchen-operating procedures.  Provides input into all aspects of service and set-up during tri-weekly event order meetings. Ultimately becomes the direct contact for guests during the execution of each event.  Partakes in site inspections (pre- and post-booking) as well as attend Pre-Cons.  Lend operational support and knowledge to clients, Sales, Catering Sales and Convention Services departments to ensure / enhance the guest experience.  Prior to function, ensures that all lights, audio-visual, set-up and all other details are complete and in proper working order.  Ensures that breakdown and cleanup after functions is complete.   Responsible for all aspects of billing procedures through Delphi and Opera.  Works with Director of Banquets to ensure the departments operations and standards are met.  Holds departmental meetings monthly and posts hotel information for banquet employees.  Must be familiar with all aspects of safety for self and staff in CPR/Heimlich, SERV SAFE, ABC Regulations and all safety / fire evacuation procedures.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. KNOWLEDGE: Must have High School Diploma and College Degree Preferred
  2. EXPERIENCE:  Must have management experience, preferably in banquets (at a minimum, management experience in a Food and Beverage environment)
  3. SKILLS: Must be able to manage time effectively, be detail-oriented, have computer knowledge and good oral and written communication skills, budgeting and financial statements.
  4. PHYSICAL:  Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Food And Beverage

Room Service Server

FT/ PT: Seasonal and Part Time

Shift Hours: 5:30am or 3:00 PM Shift

Openings: 1

Responsible for in room dining services including tea service.  Room Service requires previous Food Service experience, professional presentation, good communication skills and an eye for detail.  Tea Service requires same as Room Service.  Must be flexible to work weekends and holidays.  AM shift is 6:00am – 3:00pm, 11:00am to 6:00pm, PM shift is 3:00pm – 1:00am

 

Banquet Server and Bartender

FT/ PT: Seasonal

Shift Hours: Shifts Vary

Openings: 10

To service all banquet functions relating to preparation and service to hotel guests. Prior food service experience required. Hours of work will fluctuate based on the business levels. Excellent people skills and communication skills a must! Must be physically able to lift and balance heavy trays above shoulder. Must be flexible to work weekends and holidays.

Midnight Bellman

Will greet all arriving and departing guests from the hotel using the Five Diamond/Five Star standards. Will assist arriving guests w/ luggage and escort them to the Front Desk. May also assist valet with parking and retrieving guest vehicles. Must be able to operate automatic and manual vehicles safely. Must provide a driving record (0-+ points) and a valid Virginia Driver's license. Must possess excellent communication skills. To be considered, you must be DEPENDABLE, WELL GROOMED, CLEAN CUT and NEAT IN APPEARENCE. The position seeks to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction.

Concierge

FT/ PT: Full Time

Concierge Agent is the face and first point of contact under the direction of the Guest Services Director and the Jefferson's five diamond standards and policies. To be considered, you must be EXPERIENCED, DEPENDABLE, WELL GROOMED, CLEAN CUT and NEAT IN APPEARENCE. The position seeks to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction.

DUTIES

Include but are not limited to - Supervising Guest Service Staff. Greeting & welcoming all guests by assisting with a wide scope of services and provide detailed information about hotel facilities and operating hours. Liaison between guests, other hotel departments, and the outside world.  Ensures accuracy, follow through, and timeliness in all services extended to guests.  Chief source of information for all hotel guests providing directions, making recommendations for restaurants and tours, booking limousines, car rentals and flowers. Helping guests with any questions they have about their stay or trip. Handling all phone calls, including taking reservations. Tagging and storing luggage.

REQUIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

The candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities to be considered for this position:

Proficient in Microsoft Office
At least one year of experience in an upscale, fast paced, guest service environment
General knowledge of local sites and the Richmond area
Excellent communication skills -- oral and written

Guest Service Agent

We are looking for an extremely reliable Guest Services Agent to perform in a pleasant, professional and efficient manner.  The job is to create an overall positive five-star, five-diamond experience by ensuring 100% guest satisfaction. Employee will have a combination of duties mainly related, but not limited to, assisting guests at the time of check in and departure, making reservations and shift reports.  The Guest Service Agent will be consistently attentive, courteous and efficient in dealings with guests, managers and employees.

Candidate will have experience in hotel front desk duties or similar position for at least 2 years (we will train the right person with the right attitude). Associates degree or Bachelor's degree preferred. Must have computer skills, excellent communication skills, customer service skills and be able to work independently.

Room Attendant

Position provides the hotel with the proper cleaning and servicing of guestrooms and assigned work areas. Will include attending to assigned areas that need attention. Must have Strong housekeeping experience. Excellent people skills and communication skills a must!

Turndown Attendant

FT/ PT: Part Time

Shift Hours: 5:00pm - 10:00pm

Openings: 3

Position provides the hotel with the proper cleaning, servicing and turning down of beds during the evening. Must be friendly, accommodating and attentive. Must be able to physically perform position including lifting up to 30 lbs, standing and walking continuously. Previous work experience required.

Will assist in overseeing the operation of a busy Housekeeping department. Must have 4 to 5 years hospitality experience. Preferably management or supervisory experience in a full service hotel property. Must be team oriented, achieve goals and be fully flexible to work any day of the week, weekends & Holidays.
