Management and Administrative

Banquet Set Up Manager

FT/ PT: Full Time

BASIC FUNCTIONS/SCOPE: 

To ensure proper set-up of meetings, banquets, luncheons, etc. and to carry out all specific instructions given by Banquet Management.  To maintain all public and employee areas of responsibilities and guarantee that equipment that is used is clean, neat and in good working order.

 Duties to be performed:

1.    Meet with the PM housemen team, check if they are on time and in proper uniform

2.    Carry out all specific instructions given on the BEOs and by Banquet Management. Ensure that all rooms are set properly.  Implement any changes given- written or verbally by Catering Team

3.    Do a walk-through of all rooms that are to be used this afternoon or evening and to be sure that PM housemen are completely clear of what their set up instructions are

4.    Make sure easels, stanchions, private- party signs are polished before they go out for guest use.

5.    Make sure podiums are lite and polished, have mats or have been taped down properly to cover any exposed cords.

6.    Physical set –up of all meeting and banquet functions

7.    Communicate any set –up issues with both the closing banquet manager; so that corrections or adjustment can be made in time for the event

8.    To perform any and all special task/ projects given by the Banquet and Catering team.

9.    Make sure the housemen maintain and organize the housemen’s office along with all storage area.  This will help with equipment maintenance 

10.  Make sure all stray skirts are put away by the closing set up staff also have housemen take all dirty and torn skirting, scubas to housekeeping for repair and or dry cleaning

11.   Room maintenance – report any necessary room repairs to Banquet Management, or Director of Convention services to ensure that all necessary repairs are entered in Hot -SOS in an effort to make sure that they would be complete before the meeting space is in use again

12.  Monitoring staff- it is the supervisor’s responsibility to make sure that set up staff are being productive during their shifts. If staff is to be cut because work is complete and or staff are not being productive this should be discussed with the set up Manager or closing banquet manager.  All call outs should be reported to the manager

13.   Standards of appearance- the set up Supervisor should always be in proper uniform and should monitor and report those staff members who are not in a complete uniform including nametags

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Physical set-up of all meeting and banquet functions.

Carry out all specific instructions provided on the BEO’s and Banquet Management Team.

Initiate “Walk Throughs” in all meeting rooms and other areas of responsibility to determine if all rooms have been properly set and that areas are clean and in no need of maintenance.  Relay all problem situations to Banquet Management.

Maintaining the cleanliness of all meeting rooms, that they are properly vacuumed before and after each set-up and breakdown.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE:  Must have knowledge of banquet meeting rooms and proper set-up of meetings, banquets, luncheons, receptions, etc.

 EXPERIENCE:  Willing to train, but would prefer at least 1 year of experience.

SKILLS:  Must be able to handle moving of banquet materials, chairs, tables, podiums, etc., and be able to carry out all specific instructions for set-up.

PHYSICAL:  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be in good physical condition.

  

 

TJ's Restaurant Assistant Manager

BASIC FUNCTION:

To coordinate, manage, and direct the activities of TJ’s Restaurant under the direction of the Restaurant Manager and within the guidelines set by The Jefferson Hotel.  To establish long and short range objectives for TJ’s, ensuring high quality service, standards and satisfaction to our guests.  Individual must possess knowledge of five diamond, five star standards and exemplify, as well as direct those principles.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

GUEST RELATIONS:  Ensure guests receive the highest level of service by being hands on in the daily operation including training of staff, manage guest matters with regards to service, ensure quality of product by working closely with kitchen.

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS: Direct supervision of all restaurant staff as directed by the Restaurant Manager and the F&B Director.  Maintains positive attitude promoting TJ’s Restaurant and encourages and helps stimulate positive morale for the department.

FINANCIAL:  Controls expenses for labor and operating supplies.  Direct impact on average check, minimizing relocations, and filling the restaurant

Requirements:

EDUCATION:  High School Diploma and College Degree Preferred.

SKILLS:  Excellent communication, motivational, technical, and computer skills necessary.

PERSONALITY:  Must be goal oriented.  Should have an even disposition, able to handle stress effectively, and must be a good motivator.  Also, must be very detail-oriented and very organized.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  Hospitality experience necessary with at least two years of supervisory Food and Beverage experience in a upscale rated restaurant.

Sales Manager
